Teknoware designs and manufactures battery-free wireless stop button systems for public transport, including our standard wireless stop button system Teknoware Signal. As Teknoware wireless stop button systems are designed for use in the automotive industry, they fully meet the requirements of UNECE R10 and UNECE R118.

Teknoware wireless stop buttons have built-in energy harvesters, which convert the linear motion of a person pushing the button into energy. Therefore, the buttons do not have a traditional power source of any kind. With the harvested energy, the buttons are capable of sending an RF signal that includes a 32-bit ID for the button. Thirty-two bits result in billions of possibilities that make it highly improbable that any two buttons will have the same ID. Due to this feature, the buttons can be programmed for separate channels. Multiple buttons can be programmed for one channel and one button can be programmed for multiple channels. A maximum of 30 buttons can be programmed for one receiver.

The range of buttons available includes various body and button colour combinations with multiple text and symbol options to match the needs of different operators. The installation and commissioning of the systems is effortless, as the buttons don’t require any wiring. The buttons can be installed either on a pole or on a flat surface, which can be either vertical or horizontal. After selecting suitable locations for the buttons, link them to the receiver, and the system is ready. All buttons can be programmed to illuminate the stop sign in the vehicle. The driver can also receive information directly identifying the section of the vehicle where the button is pressed. That way, the driver will know from where the passenger is getting off, for example, the upper deck of a double-decker, a disabled seat, or right next to the driver at the front of the bus.

Being battery-free, Teknoware wireless stop button systems are truly sustainable. Thanks to their durability, maintenance costs can be kept to a minimum, and in the unlikely event that something isn’t absolutely as it should be, fault finding and button replacement are both quick and easy.
