Teknoware Interior Lighting for the Crossrail Project in the UK
Teknoware supplies the interior lighting system for the new Bombardier Aventra Crossrail trains in UK. The new Crossrail train is the first project based on the new Aventra platform. The new fleet has 585 train cars that serve the route that runs through London, from Reading and Heathrow in the west, through new twin-bore 21 km tunnels below central London to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east. The full fleet of Crossrail trains came into operation in 2019.
The interior lighting system is based on LED technology and is controlled by an intelligent Lighting Control Unit (LCU). Key elements in the design have been energy efficiency, long-lifetime and low weight. A stand-alone emergency lighting system has also been incorporated.
